Dorothy Hargett
Access Services Supervisor

The Access Services Supervisor provides leadership for the Library’s Circulation department. Circulation is responsible for checking-out books, shelving items, and helping patrons find materials. The Circulation desk is open every day until midnight (2:00 a.m. during exams).

I also give presentations about customer service on local and national platforms and have served in leadership roles for Innovative Users Group, a consortium of libraries using the Millennium Integrated Library System. I hold a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Mississippi Valley State University and a Master degree in Human Services Counseling from Regent. I am currently working on a Master of Library & Information Science degree at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

Originally from Flint, Michigan, my husband and I came to Virginia in 1988 so that he could attend then CBN University. I have worked at the Regent Library for ten years. In my spare time, I love spoiling my grandchildren and playing scrabble.

I believe that librarianship is one of the greatest professions that serve mankind. It is a joy to work and serve the thousands of patrons that enter the Library.

I feel blessed to be a part of the Regent family.
