ACL publishes the print and online versions of the Christian Periodical Index, the leading guide to evangelical perspective journal articles.

This year, ACL members convened for their annual conference June 8-11 at Evangel University in Springfield, MO. University Librarian Georgianne Bordner gave a presentation titled “Collection Assessment as a Tool for Improving Collection Development.” The presentation described an ongoing project to determine the University Library’s readiness to support the University’s QEP of global competency and to identify materials that we need to acquire to strengthen the collection. Because of demand by members, Georgi gave this presentation twice at the conference.

Georgi also served on a panel that gave a presentation titled “International Libraries – What in the World Can We Do to Help?” The panel consisted of members of the Commission for International Library Assistance (CILA) who shared advice based on their wide range of international experiences. As Team Coordinator of CILA, Georgi led a program for all conference attendees in which various members reported on recent international projects, including the training seminar she, Dr. Leanne Strum, and four other team members gave in Malaysia in Sept. 2008.

At the closing banquet, Georgi was presented with the Association’s Volunteer of the Year award, in recognition of 25 years of service to ACL as an indexer for the Christian Periodical Index, former Board member, and CILA member and Team Coordinator.
