Book display honors the life of Martin Luther King, Jr.

by Sara Baron, Ed.D., Dean of the University Library

In celebration of the 85th anniversary of the birth of Martin Luther King, Jr., the Library has created a display honoring this great man through books, images, and words. Using items from the Library collection, we feature several important moments in his life, including the March on Washington, the “I Have a Dream” speech, and his acceptance of the Nobel Peace Prize. We also feature books and images that represent Dr. King’s skills as a preacher and orator. Key quotes from his speeches and writings are highlighted. Most of the books he authored are also present. In addition, we feature several children’s books from the curriculum collection that colorfully tell his story. The display is located in the Globe area of the University Library and will be up through February. Please stop by!
