Library acquires all films on the “Arts & Faith Top 100 Films” list

Written by Sara Baron, Ed.D., Dean of the University Library

Where is the Life we have lost in living?
Where is the wisdom we have lost in knowledge?
Where is the knowledge we have lost in information?
—T. S. Eliot, The Rock (1934)

In a world drowning with information, where shall wisdom be found? Image journal strives to bridge art, faith, and culture. Proclaiming that “great art can make religious faith available to us now in our time,” Image journal seeks to reconnect “beauty with its transcendent source.”

Since 2011, the journal has published a list of “Arts & Faith Top 100 Films.” When the list was first published, the University Library already had about half the films. Since then, we have acquired all of the remaining titles, giving the Regent community access to an incredible body of cinematic art connecting faith and film. You can search for the films by title in the Library catalog.
