Brenda Chappell-Sharpe, Ph.D., Regent’s Information Literacy & Marketing Librarian, is an artist by trade. One of her works, an art photo titled “The Red Landscape” is featured on the cover of a newly published book, Lessons for Global Living, by Asalean Springfield, a poet and professor of English at Tennessee State University.
Dr. Chappell-Sharpe, a lover of nature, especially trees, began photographing images in 1979 with an old Canon camera given to her by one of her professors. Ever since, she has tried to capture the essence of landscapes and recreate them in drawings or paintings. The “Red Landscape” represents God’s blessings upon the picnic area of a community park in Sacramento.
