Book Sale at the Library

by Dorothy Hargett, Access Services Librarian

The Library Book Sale has begun! This year is a little different than previous years, as the books will be continuously displayed on two book shelves across from the Circulation desk. The shelves will be replenished with more books as items are sold, so be sure to check out what’s on offer at least once a week.

We have new and old books in all subjects, making the sale a perfect opportunity to build your personal library or buy gifts for all the readers in your life. Hardbacks are only 50¢ and paperbacks 25¢. Cash only. Please bring your own bags or boxes.

Library book sale update

by Sara Baron, Dean of the University Library

The Library’s book sale earlier this month earned $2,940.90, which will support library acquisitions, special events, and other activities that benefit the Regent community.

All of the unsold books were sent to Better World Books, an organization that resells the books online, with 15% of sales being returned to our Library and another 5% going to a Non-Profit Literacy Partner, Invisible Children. The books that are left over will be recycled so nothing ends up in a landfill.

We thank everyone who purchased items at the sale. Your purchases will help the Library and, in a small way, make a difference in world-wide literacy efforts.

Library Book Sale: December 1 & 2

On December 1 & 2, the Library will hold its first book sale in two years. We have a huge selection of books, DVDs and VHS tapes in all subjects. Book sale hours are:

  • Thursday, December 1: 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
  • Friday, December 2: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The location will be the Library Atrium, on the second floor.

Regent students presenting student IDs can buy paperbacks for 50¢ and hardbacks for $1. Book prices for all other buyers are $1 for paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks. Videos are 50¢ for VHS tapes and $1 for DVDs. Please bring your own bags or boxes to take your books home. And remember, students must present a Regent student ID for student pricing.

This Christmas, give the gift of books!
