The Library Book Club has just announced our new reading schedule and invites the Regent community to put aside those journal articles for about twenty minutes each day and rediscover the pleasure of reading, sharing ideas, and even arguing about literature. Our reading list for this year includes classics of western literature as well as non-western masterworks that support the Quality-Enhancement Plan on global competence.
All of us at Regent are very busy, but I hope this list will entice students, staff, and faculty to reserve even twenty minutes a day for recreational and enrichment reading. After all, as Mark Twain put it, “the man who doesn’t read good books has no advantage over the man who can’t read them.”
