The Library recently participated in Disability Awareness Day, an event that was held in Robertson Hall on April 7th. The purpose of Disability Awareness Day was to increase the community’s understanding of what it is like to live with a disability. Student Services provided sandwiches and drinks after Chapel, and participants had the opportunity to visit the display tables located in the Robinson Hall Atrium. Several local agencies participated in the event including the Department of Rehabilitative Services, the Brain Injury Association of Virginia, the Department for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and Virginia Assistive Technology System. The Library display table included a sample of titles from the collection and a bibliography of selected resources. To view the bibliography, see the Library’s Services to Patrons with Disabilities page.
